Berkshire band the AlgoRhythmics play the Barn with music and styles ranging from The Beatles and D’Angelo to Frank Zappa and Steely Dan.
The origins of the AlgoRhythmics and be traced back to 2000 – 2001 in the village of Kent, more specifically a small record store called Colonial Records where most of them met for the first time and were brought together by our mutual love and appreciation for all kinds of music.
After embarking on their own individual musical journeys, the band says, they all stayed in touch and frequently got together for one-off jams while always teasing the potential of creating something more permanent.
Fast forward to a meeting, where the trio decided they should pay tribute to the music they love by assembling a group of friends to play… just about anything.
You will know the music they play, the band says, but may not expect to hear it: their shows are more of a finely crafted playlist instead of overplayed top 40 hits, and their arrangements are challenging and enjoyable.
Rory Dolan plays drums and arranges their music, and his style is the driving force behind the 18 year long career of Lespecial. Sam McGarrity is an elite-level guitarist and singer in addition to being a music teacher in the Great Barrington area. He is involved in a number of musical endeavors, including composing and arranging his own music.
The rest of our group has Dillon Morrison-Halas on Bass, Scott Bricher on Keyboards, Melanie Scibilia on lead vocals, Sam Hopkins on sax and Tobias on rhythm guitar.
The Barn offers live music in a tavern atmosphere with a wood fire and comfortable chairs around the stage and a pub menu for dinner.
