Berkshire Museum’s new exhibition, Art of the Hills: Narrative, curated by nationally recognized artists Amy Myers and Seung Lee, will in the galleries on October 10.

Art of the Hills: Narrative celebrates the rich, creative culture of the Berkshires, bringing together 78 works by 64 emerging and established artists that live or work within 60 miles of the museum. Lee and Myers curated the show from a collection of more than 530 submitted works.

Lee sought pieces that “tell the viewer a story (in) character, scenes, time, technique, and purpose,” the museum says, with an emphasis on skillful interpretation of an idea, while Myers looked for time and wonder, selecting pieces that left her with “a question or curiosity” rather than a conclusion.

Myers has shown work in her own solo show at the museum. In her painting, she combines particle physics and abstract art in contemplative drawings, geometric and organic at the same time. Lee, Director of Fine Arts and Graduate Studies as well as Professor at Long Island University, has shown his paintings, drawings and installations in vivid color and natural and abstract forms, around the world.

Visitors can also explore exhibit virtually in a digital exhibition will feel as though they are walking through the museum, through a technique that combines a three-dimensional digital model with crisp, colorful images of the artists’ work. The artwork will remain in the galleries through January 10.

The museum hopes to open the show in its physical space in the fall. The exhibition includes works by the following artists:
