Community Garden Plots
June 30 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Looking to start a garden, but need a space to do it? The Community Garden at Canoe Meadows in Pittsfield has been welcoming organic green thumbs to its 4.5-acre garden for more than 30 years. Several gardeners even describe it as “the most scenic location to plant a garden in Berkshire County.”
The gardens open from May to October in 15- by 20-foot plots (and gardeners can sign up for more than one if they would like.)
Signing up carries a small seasonal fee, and if it prevents you from being involved, Mass Audubon invites you to get in touch. They have accessible raised beds too.
By the Way Berkshires is a digital magazine exploring creative life and community — art and performance, food and the outdoors — and I’m writing it for you, with local voices, because I’ve gotten to know this rich part of the world as a writer and journalist, and I want to share it with you.If you’d like to see the website grow, you can join me for a few dollars a month, enough for a cup of coffee and a cider doughnut. Members get access to extra stories and multimedia, itineraries a bookmark tool. Let me know what you're looking for, and we’ll explore together.
In the 2022 Festival of Contemporary Music, Tanglewood Music Center Fellows will perform a free chamber music concert with works by Carlos Simon and more.
