Artist, gardener and teacher Nicole Campanale will offer an online class on growing and gathering dye plants.

As we approach the growing season she invites listeners to add new plants to your garden and discover how some garden mainstays can be used in new ways.

It’s easy to incorporate so many of these beautiful plants into the home vegetable or flower garden, she says. A great class for those interested in botanical dyes, or gardeners looking to add a dye bed. Sourcing, collection, and storage will be covered as well as the basics of creating a dye bath.

Nicole Campanale began her training in art and gardening more than 10 years ago. She received a BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where she studied weaving and natural dyeing. A summer job in gardening sparked an enduring love of plants that informs her work.

Over the past 10 years Nicole has taught natural dyeing and other fibers classes in local schools and children’s programs. She has worked with several of the area’s most accomplished gardeners in public and private gardens and continues to work locally as a gardener and garden designer. She has a studio in New Marlborough where she grows dye plants and designs and creates textile goods using natural dyes.

A recording will be available after the event.
