Artwork from awardwinning artists and illustrators Frances Jetter, David Macaulay, James McMullan and Yuyi Morales appears in a group show at the Norman Rockwell Museum, Finding Home: Four Artists’ Journeys, telling stories of coming to another country, the experience of leaving all you know, having to adapt, being seen as different, and finding solace in the love of family and friends and in a sense of accomplishment — in more than 150 original drawings, paintings, linoleum block prints, and digital mixed media works.
Morales and her young son come from Mexico the the San Fransisco Bay area in Dreamers. McMullan crosses the ocean from China, where he was born, to Canada and India in World War II, and Macaulay recalls his own childhood journey from the north of England to New Jersey after the war. And Jetter chronicles her grandparents coming from Poland to the garment district in New York in 1911.
