Magical Nature Coming Out Ritual
February 12 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Wild Soul River celebrates a new tarot deck, Magical Nature Tarot, created in collaboration with more than 25 different Western Massachusetts plants and foraged materials.
This weekend, Wild Soul River invites the community to join in a gathering for Magical Nature Tarot, to celebrate the new deck and the artwork, diverse plant life and collaboration involved in its making.
Creative channel Marjorie Morgan, from Colrain, Massachusetts, has crafted this deck with the guidance of the natural world around her and with inspiration from the centuries-old tarot tradition. Each card is a small but complete work of art created by collaging together prints made from handmade inks and natural dyes. Together they invite us to connect with the Magical Nature of this incredible planet and to reinhabit our own inherent Magical Nature.
Hrbalist Rebecca Guanzon from wild Soul joins Marjorie in the creation of the Magical Nature Tarot Guide. This distinctive and elegant online manual is designed to deepen the Magical Nature Tarot experience by aiding the process of reconnection and remembering.
It includes grounding exercises, prompts to build trust in one’s instincts and intuition, suggested spreads for the cards, and an extensive list of all the plants involved and their medicinal and therapeutic properties.
The collaborative team honors the land they live and work with by honoring their ancestors who journeyed before them and by honoring the ancestors past and present of the land now referred to as Western Massachusetts; specifically the homelands of the Wabanaki Confederacy territory and the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohicans.
Recognizing the centuries of current and past harm and violence our partner Wild Soul River pays reparations to both local BiPOC Farmers and the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohicans.
Tarot can act as a source for meditation, storytelling, clarity and understanding. The event is open to all.
