Movement Without Borders: Dance
December 25, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until January 26, 2022
PS21/Chatham offers Movement Without Borders, workshops open to everyone. Contemporary performers in the Hudson Valley, Bennington’s MFA dance program and more bring yoga, Pilates, exercise, dance, and self-expression to anyone in the community who wants to explore curiosity, come outside and move freely.
Sondra Loring will offer weekly yoga sessions open to all ages and levels, focused on mind, body, and spirit. A long-time yoga teacher, farmer and activist, she is also a community builder, dancer and choreographer. As founder of Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation in Hudson and Satya Yoga Center in Rhinebeck, she has fostered a thriving yoga community in the Hudson Valley.
She founded and directs the Sadhana Service Project, bringing yoga and mindfulness to those impacted by trauma addiction and incarceration. Sondra reimagines yoga to be inclusive and teaches a blend of somatics, strength training and mobility practices. She offers an approach that encourages each student to participate with intelligence and grace. Her classes are valued for their creative flow of movement, lightheartedness, and sense of community.
