Berkshire Scenic Railway’s holiday train rides are running on the Hoosac Valley Line between Adams and North Adams this weekend, on Saturday at 2, 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday at noon, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Ride for an hour and twenty minutes, as Mrs. Claus helps children write and deliver a letter to the Jolly ‘Ol Elf himself.
Passengers board at Adams Station, and the entire train is decorated. At the North Adams platform, passengers will step out to see Santa’s Mail Express train and deliver their letter directly to Santa Claus. Heading back to Adams Station, Mrs. Claus will distribute thank you gifts for the children’s assistance in helping Santa to deliver the messages of children from all over the area.
Will Santa be on the train? Unfortunately, no. He will interact with children when they drop their letter off, and he will keep a proper distance from passengers.
The railway asks travelers to park at Adams Visitor Center 3 Hoosac St. in Adams, between 10 and 20 minutes before departure, because to COVID social distancing policies. Come to the Adams Station (look for signage directing you there) and wait for a crew member to direct you to the train.
Because of Covid restrictions, they can only offer tickets in advance. Join on zoom »
To keep riders safe: Masks or face coverings are required during the entirety of the visit – please bring one. The ride is approximately 1 hour long. A crew member will welcome you and escort you to the boarding platform. Please wait for them. Hoosac Valley cannot allow food and drink within the coaches, and a crew member will assign seating using social distancing requirements. For safe social distancing, the train rides will be operating at 50 percent capacity, following Massachusetts requirements.
