Nationally awardwinning mystery writers SJ Rozan and Jonathan Santlofer come together at Northshire to celebrate their newest books, The Mayors of New York and The Lost Van Gogh.

In S J Rozan’s The Mayors of New York, Private investigators Lydia Chin and Bill Smith probe the mystery behind the disappearance of the teenage son of the mayor of New York. In January, New York City inaugurates its first female mayor. In April, her son disappears. Called in by the mayor’s chief aide to find the missing 15-year-old, Bill and Lydia are told the boy has run away. Neither the press nor the NYPD know that he’s missing, and the mayor wants him back before a headstrong child turns into a political catastrophe.

But as Bill and Lydia investigate, they turn up more questions than answers. Why did the boy leave? Who else is searching for him, and why? What is his twin sister hiding? Then a teen is found dead and another is hit by gunfire. Are these tragedies related to each other, and to the mayor’s missing son? To find the answers before it’s too late, Bill and Lydia turn to the neighborhood leaders who are the real ‘mayors’ of New York.

S. J. Rozan is the author of Family Business, The Art of Violence, Paper Son, and many other mystery novels. She has won multiple awards for her fiction, including the Edgar, Shamus, Anthony, Nero, Macavity, the Japanese Maltese Falcon, and the Private Eye Writers of America Lifetime Achievement Award. S. J. was born and raised in the Bronx and now lives in lower Manhattan.

From Jonathan Santlofer comes a story of masterpieces and masterminds. For years, there have been whispers that, before his death, Van Gogh completed a final self-portrait. Curators and art historians have savored this rumor, hoping it could illuminate some of the troubled artist’s many secrets, but even they have to concede that the missing painting is likely lost forever.

But when Luke Perrone, artist and great-grandson of the man who stole the Mona Lisa, and Alexis Verde, daughter of a notorious art thief, discover what may be the missing portrait, they are drawn into a most epic art puzzles. When only days later the painting disappears again, they are reunited with Interpol agent John Washington Smith in a dangerous and deadly search that will not only expose secrets of the artist’s last days but draws them into one of history’s darkest eras.

Beneath the paint and canvas, beneath the beauty and the legend, the artwork has become linked with something evil, something that continues to flourish on the dark web and on the shadiest corridors of the underground art world.
