Snow Farm — the New England Craft Program – holds their annual seconds sale, as more than 250 artists show their work in glass, ceramics, clothing, jewelry, baskets, wood, cards, prints, ornaments and more, in the Snow Farm dining hall and four studios, November 24 to 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“What are seconds?” Snow Farm explains, “Seconds can be excess inventory, experimental pieces, discontinued lines, or slightly flawed items. To the artist they might be seconds, but most pieces look perfect, and prices are perfect too. There are also plenty of firsts throughout the galleries that are great bargains. The Jane Sinauer Gallery, named after the founder of Snow Farm (called Horizons originally) features a curated collection of higher-end, one-of-a-kind pieces.”
All purchases support the craft education program and scholarships at Snow Farm and the artists whose work you buy. Snow Farm is a nonprofit organization, and the Seconds Sale is their most important fundraiser of the year. They rely on volunteers for set-up, take-down and on sale days. Snow Farm is located on historic farmland, they add, and the pathways between galleries are unpaved and can be slightly hilly. Your entry ticket is good for the time you reserve and any later time, and walk-ins are also welcome.
