Log Lunch community conversation

January 20 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Tu Le, Farmer, Florist and Chef and Williamstown-based farmer, will talk about his adventures starting a farm in “328North: The Farm, Flower & Food Experience” — considering how his micro farm has evolved over the years to adapt to the challenges of farming in Massachusetts, including high land prices, drought and flood, and a tough economic system for local producers, to name a few.

Log lunch offers a locally-farmed vegetarian homemade lunch and talk at noon on Fridays at The Log, and all are welcome.

Each week, Williams students prepare and serve a vegetarian lunch, followed by a talk on an environmental topic. Speakers come from the students and faculty of Williams, as well as from local, national, and international organizations.

Log Lunch is sponsored by the Center for Environmental Studies (CES). A tradition of the Center since 1972, Log Lunches are held on Fridays during the academic year at noon at the Log on Spring Street.

Log Lunches are open to the community, and the cost of each lunch (soup, salad, and homemade bread) is $3. You can call CES with any questions @ 413-597-2346. Reservations required, as space is limited, so they know how much soup to make.

By the Way Berkshires is a digital magazine exploring creative life and community — art and performance, food and the outdoors — and I’m writing it for you, with local voices, because I’ve gotten to know this rich part of the world as a writer and journalist, and I want to share it with you.

If you’d like to see the website grow, you can join me for a few dollars a month, enough for a cup of coffee and a cider doughnut. Members get access to extra stories and multimedia, itineraries a bookmark tool. Let me know what you're looking for, and we’ll explore together.
