Midweek Music at Williams College

The first Midweek Music of the year will present one piece – with many performers. Matthew Gold leads a group of Williams students, faculty, and friends in a performance of In C by Terry Riley. The minimalist work brings together people who might not otherwise get a chance to perform with one another.

Shimmering flowers: pop up Gold Leaf Workshops

Learn about the artistic medium of gold leafing and create a gold leaf work of art with Berkshire Botanical Garden’s art education intern, Mariah Baca. This drop-in workshop is open to all ages and levels. In Shimmering Flowers, New York City artist Nancy Lorenz draws on years in Japan and as a contemporary abstract painter.

Egremont Barn open mic

Berkshire musicians gather to perform at an informal open mic at the Egremont Barn — folk, rock, blues, Broadway and more, with live piano accompaniment and high spirits. The pub is open for dinner, with table seating and arm chairs, and a fire in the fireplace on cold nights.

Lion’s Den: Allen and Azaam

A regional duo on saxophone and piano perform standards and the not-so-standard with a bit of a twist in the pub at the Red Lion Inn. Regional musicians perform most nights year-round in the Lion’s Den Pub: Folk, blues, rock and jazz 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Shimmering Flowers: Nancy Lorenz’s Lacquer and Bronze Landscapes

Experience the world of contemporary artist Nancy Lorenz with a gallery tour of the summer exhibit, Shimmering Flowers: Nancy Lorenz's Lacquer and Bronze Landscapes. Led by Berkshire Botanical Garden's art education summer intern, tours meet at the Center House Leonhardt Galleries on Sundays and Thursdays at 1 p.m.

Historic property walk

Enjoy a guided walk on the Norman Rockwell Museum’s 36-acre site and learn about Peter Rockwell’s sculptures, the Mohicans who have lived here for centuries, the museum's view of Monument Mountain, and the historic Linwood house, an 1859 Berkshire Cottage. The walk ends at Norman Rockwell’s Stockbridge Studio.

The Chalet

Mass MoCA serves grill favorites and local brews with live music on Thursday nights from July to October in the museum courtyards along the Hoosic River — a riverside beer garden with local music under the Berkshire stars.
