Local nut growers will roast chestnuts every Sunday between Thanksgiving and Christmas in a popup farmstand with fresh chestnuts for sale and tree crop treats from Forestopia.
Forestopia, based in Greenfield Mass. and Brattleboro Vt., works to expand opportunities for tree crops and tree products, all sustainably sourced from well-managed, regenerative agroforestry systems or ecologically sound harvesting of non-timber forest products.
They aim to grow long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with small-holder grower groups and harvester communities around the world, they say, to promote sustainable agroforestry and conservation practices, and bring to healthy and delicious tree products to their region.
