Studio 9 is a new recording studio and performance venue in North Adams at the Porches Inn, across from Mass MoCA and beside the Uno Community Center and community gardens. The building was designed and built from the ground up with music and sustainability in mind, the Porches says.

It is completely carbon neutral and is equipped with Meyer Sound’s Constellation System and large windows to give natural light. Musicians involved with Freshgrass and Mass MoCA have been known to record there, and the venue hosts concerts and film screenings.

The studio partners with Grammy-nominated sound engineer Dave Dennison, with more than 30 years of experience specializing in recording, sound system design, event support and education. He has worked with perfomers from Jerry Garcia, Celine Dion and The Rolling Stones to the Montreux Jazz Festival and Metallica, and the H.H. Dalai Lama, Jackie Chan, the Tribeca Film Festival and many more.
