Children’s art workshop — Draw In: Sketching our world

Children ages 7 and up will use drawing as a tool for discovery in this hands-on series of classes taught by illustrator Patrick O’Donnell. They wake inspiration from both the outdoors and works on view to then make art in pencil, pastel, and other dry media, and they can take one class or many.

Explore the Garden through the pleasure of watercolor painting. Artists will work outdoors in the garden, translating its vistas and details into color and landscape. Each class will begin in the Center House with demonstrations and assignments.

Shaker Foodways

In this new program, offered daily in July and August, spend an hour with a guide touring the Shakers' heirloom vegetable and herb gardens on the oldest working farm in the Berkshires. Explore the 1830 Brick Dwelling kitchen, discover ingenious technology and mix up a Shaker recipe to sample.

Enjoy a guided walk on the Norman Rockwell Museum’s 36-acre site and learn about Peter Rockwell’s sculptures, the Mohicans who have lived here for centuries, the museum's view of Monument Mountain, and the historic Linwood house, an 1859 Berkshire Cottage. The walk ends at Norman Rockwell’s Stockbridge Studio.
