Hoffmann Bird Club will lead a weekly spring bird walk along the River Walk trail right in Great Barrington, and beginners are welcome.
Spring is here, the Hoffmann Bird Club says, and they are calling Birders of all ages – Beginners Welcome! The peepers are singing, the red maples are blooming and migratory birds are starting to return.
New birds arrive daily, and anything is possible during migration. Green spaces fill with birds sporting their nuptial plumages, belting songs from the treetops–urging us to take a look.
The club invites you all to join us for weekly spring bird walks along the Riverfront Trail. The group will meet at the Great Barrington Food Co-op at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, sthrough the end of May.
The walk will experience the Riverfront Trail afresh every week, noticing the changes in the natural community around us–from birds to blooms, and take in spring’s splendor together,
All are welcome and no birding experience is required. Binoculars are useful, the club says – reach out if you need a loner pair and they’ll try to help. Questions? contact Ben (ben@berkshirebirds.org) The walks are offered in partnership with Berkshire Bird Observatory and the Great Barrington Land Conservancy.
