Patio Productions: West Stockbridge Chamber Players

The West Stockbridge Chamber Players — clarinetist Catherine Hudgins, clarinetist William R. Hudgins and cellist William Rounds will an evening of music at The Foundry on the evening after the Guild of Berkshire Artists opens their new outdoor art exhibit at Turn Park.

Some of the proceeds from the event will go to the West Stockbridge Historical Society, and SoMa Catering will offer food for purhcase at the Foundry’s oudoor patio bar.
Cellist William Rounds, a member of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and the Portland Symphony, often performs as an extra with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Originally from Rapid City, South Dakota he studied under George Neikrug at Boston University. A former member of the Artaria String Quartet, he has performed as a soloist with many orchestras throughout the United States. He also previously toured with John Denver, recorded with Aerosmith and has performed or recorded with a wide variety of popular artists ranging from David Byrne to Jerry Vale.
Clarinetist Catherine Hudgins egan her career in Caracas, Venezuela with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Caracas, later holding positions in the Sinfonica Municipal de Caracas, the Charleston Symphony, and the Boise Philharmonic. A busy career as an orchestral and chamber musician has led her to perform throughout North America, Europe, and in South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. She now serves as the principal clarinetist with the Plymouth Philharmonic and the Eb clarinetist for the Portland (ME) Symphony, and she often performs as an extra musician with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Clarinetist William R. Hudgins was appointed by Seiji Ozawa as Principal Clarinetist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Chamber Players in 1994. He has been heard as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions, including performances of both Mozart and Copland’s Clarinet Concertos and Bruch’s Double Concerto for Clarinet and Viola. Past chamber music performances include collaborations with Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, Paula Robinson, Barbara Bonney and the Lydian String Quartet.
