Internationally touring Irish band Breaking Trad — Dónal Murphy on accordion, David Doocey on fiddle and Mike Galvin on guitar/vocals — will perform and lead a workshop live.
Dónal Murphy (Accordion), from Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick, a winner of numerous All-Ireland titles on both Button Accordion and Melodeon, David Doocey (Fiddle) from Foxford, Co Mayo, a winner of multiple awards including the All-Ireland Senior Fiddle competition and the coveted Fiddler of Oriel trophy and also Mike Galvin (Guitar/Vocals) who has vast experience working in a wide range of musical styles from Rock and Roll to Irish Traditional.
Between them, they have toured extensively around the world, performing at major festivals and music venues and touring with some of the biggest names in several different music genres including Four Men and a Dog, De Dannan, Dance star Michael Flatley, Sean Keane, Tim O Brien, Alison Krauss & Gráda and many more. Their music has been described as ‘Dazzling’, ‘unorthodox and unique’, and ‘high octane’.

In the workshops, the band says, they will focus on traditional music. “You’ll get some good tunes to take home and some of the spicy stories about musicians, their lives and ways to party. We’ll mainly play by ear, so you may want to bring some simple recording equipment.”
