Mass Maple Weekend

Berkshire farms and sugar shacks who tap their trees are opening for tours and tastings to celebrate Mass Maple Weekend. Among them (shown here from North to South) …

Ioka Valley Farm

The Sugarhouse is open for tours with tastings and demonstrations, and the Calf-A serves homemade pancake, waffle and French Toast breakfasts and their beloved homemade corn muffins with their own maple butter. A fourth-generation family farm, Ioka has experimented with maple for many years, with granulated maple sugar, maple candy, maple-coated nuts, maple cream,bourbon-barrel-aged maple syrup and more.

Holiday Brook Farm

Holiday Brook Farm will offer a full pancake breakfast buffet, syrup making demonstrations and tastings. The farm store will be open with maple products available. There will be farm animals to visit and more! Holiday Brook Farm is a fourth generation, 1300-acre farm offering maple cream and maple syrup among the many goods at their farm store.

100 Holiday Cottage Road, Dalton — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Woodlife Ranch

Woodlife Ranch, a family-owned and operated farm using environmentally responsible and sustainable practices, opens the ranch to the public for maple weekend. Their store, Woodlife Farm Market in New Lebanon N.Y., serves breakfast on weekends and offers variations on their maple syrup, including bourbon-barrel-aged syrups, along with other farm products.

Ranch — 1352 Hancock Road, Williamstown — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Farm market — 36 Old Route 20, New Lebanon, N.Y. — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mill Brook Sugarhouse

Visitors can tour Mill Brook’s sugarhouse to see how maple syrup is made and be able to try samples from their maple recipes. They have been a family owned and operated sugarhouse for more than 40 years near Roaring Brook and October Mountain state Forest, making
granulated maple sugar, maple candy, maple syrup and more.

409 1/2 New Lenox Road, Lenox — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Shanty

Join in boiling, bottling and sugar bush tours. The farmers will walk visitors through the whole process with antique taps on display. Hobby farm. Syrup is usually available when boiling, they say, and they make aple syrup and honey on site. Bees are neighbors to the sugar house.
